The begining of the PHANTOM legend!
........Christopher Walker (Standish), was thrown overboard his father's vessel in the year of 1536, during a skirmish with Singh pirates. He washed upon the shore off Bangalla, the last sight he had was his father being murdered by the leader of the pirates. Both his father's ship, and the pirates ship had exploded during the fight, leaving Christopher the sole survivor of the battle. He was found and befriended by the Bandar, a tribe of headhunters, that lived in that region.
One day, a body washed upon the shore, ......it was the body of the pirate who had slain his father. The headhunters removed the head from the body, stripped the flesh from the skull and presented it to Christopher, as a trophy of a slain enemy. Upon receiving the skull, Christopher held the skull in front of him and repeated these words: "I swear on the skull of my father's murderer to devote my life to the destruction of piracy, greed, cruelty and injustice in all their forms. And my sons, and their sons shall follow me!", and they did.
Generation after generation, when a father died, the son took over for the father, and upon the death of the father, each new Phantom would carve a headstone for his son that would follow him. From the first, through the present 21st Phantom, and into the future this is the oath sworn by all Phantoms. Christopher made a generations long pact to the Bandar people, to be their protector, and they would spread the story of the undying god of vengence "Ghost who walks", that guards their borders, causing everyone to believe that this "Phantom" was centuries old.
Upon Christopher seeing the demon god idol that the Bandar worshiped, covered with purple berry juice, as well as the witch doctor covered in the same purple juice, he patterned his skintight clothes after this, and using the image of the skull to bring terror to those of unjust actions.

Christopher Walker chose a ring with the image of a skull ,whose true origin is still clouded in mystery. There are rumors from that it once belonged to Emperor Nero, and that it was cast from the metal from a holy icon. As to how it came into the Phantom's possession, it is recorded in the chronicles, and never spoken of. The Phantom's ring has sharp edges and is covered with a permanent ink extracted from plants in the jungles of Bangalla, leaving a skull mark that will never come off. Once you are marked with the symbol of the skull, you are marked for life.
The good ring symbol is 4 crossed swords, this ring is always worn on the left hand, which is closer to the heart. This symbol not only is on the flag of the jungle patrol. but is also given to those that are under the protection of the Phantom himself, as a warning to all who would do harm to those who bear his symbol of protection. The good mark ring came along, after the 6th Phantom created it after founding the Jungle patrol.

JULIE WALKER, the 17th Phantom!
Julie walker, twin sister to her brother Chris from the 1800's, holds the distinct title of being the one and only female Phantom to date. Although this was only for a short period of time, she showed that she was more than enough a match for any scoundrels who encountered her during her time as Phantom. Julie took her brother's place, when he was shot by bandits, tied up, beaten, and thrown overboard to be eaten by crocodiles, while attempting to rescue a missionary taken hostage. Julie had already taken the oath of the Phantom at the same time as her brother, so after avenging her brother and rescuing the missionary, she returned to care for her brother, and to assume the duties of the Phantom until his wounds healed. Eventually Chris, the 17th phantom recovered from his wounds, and resumed the mantle of Phantom.
